Physical and Digital Infrastructure (PDI), connectivity and cooperation enabling and supporting CCAM (CCAM Partnership)

European Road Transport Research Advisory Council (ERTARC)

Date: October 2021

Project Summary

The expected impact of the project is to contribute to “Safe, seamless, smart, inclusive, resilient and sustainable mobility systems for people and goods thanks to user-centric technologies and services including digital technologies and advanced satellite navigation services”, notably through:

  1. Accelerating the implementation of innovative connected, cooperative and automated mobility (CCAM) technologies and systems for passengers and goods (more detailed information below).
  2. Further developing a multimodal transport system through sustainable and smart long-haul and urban freight transport and logistics, upgraded and resilient physical and digital infrastructures for smarter vehicles and operations, for optimised system-wide network efficiency (more detailed information below).
  3. Drastically decreasing the number of transport accidents, incidents and fatalities towards the EU’s long-term goal of moving close to zero fatalities and serious injuries by 2050 even in road transportation (Vision Zero) and increase the resilience of transport systems (more detailed information below).

PRAGMA, has developed an innovative OEM IoT framework capable to collect, process, analyze, compare and present information collected at different architectural nodes of an end-to-end ecosystem. One of its major advantages is the embedded AI technology for on-the-fly data analysis. Indicative embedded AI algorithms are: anomaly detection; energy disaggregation; energy load and generation forecasting; trend analysis; inference mechanisms (occupancy, comfort, activity); advanced recommendation engine; pattern recognition (deep learning & ML methodologies). Within the project, Pragma will extend the architecture of the embedded AI algorithms, from conventional to federated. Thus, Pragma will be able to support either centralized or decentralized AI architectures, depending on the problem, the amount of data and the customer. Thus, it will gain an added value service that will exploited in the competitive IoT market.
